Counselling for Anxiety

Anxiety doesn’t have to run your life. It is possible to feel in control again.

Our Approach

Having some anxiety is a natural part of life, but when it starts to impact our daily functioning we can feel distressed and out of control. Whether you find you are anxious about something specific, or you find your anxiety touching all areas of your life, our counsellors can help.

Some common anxiety symptoms include physiological responses such as your heart beating fast, a sinking feeling in your stomach, a flushed face, feeling nauseous, and tension in your body. Mental reactions can include racing thoughts, cyclical thinking, negative thoughts, and intrusive thoughts. Emotional reactions might be wanting to cry, feeling overwhelmed, and feeling confused.

We believe that anxiety coping strategies are very important to help us manage anxiety and reduce its impact on our daily functioning. We are here to support you to develop your coping strategies and skill set to manage symptoms as they arise so you can find relief and get back to living the life that you want.

Our counsellors also understand that there is often a root cause for the anxiety symptoms that are negatively impacting us. It is part of our job to help you address what is beneath the anxiety to alleviate symptoms long-term.
