Counselling for Depression
Depression can leave us feeling helpless and alone. It is possible to find yourself again.
Our Approach
Our counsellors understand that depression can be debilitating and it can affect all areas of our lives including our relationships, our work, life satisfaction, and our will to live. Depression also blocks us from feeling able to connect with others, which further isolates us. If you are feeling depressed, please know you are not alone, and counselling can help.
Symptoms of depression can include lack of motivation, feeling flat, feeling hopeless, helpless, lonely, or completely numb. Suicidal ideation is common often because it feels like the only way out of suffering. Our counsellors are trained in supporting people with depression and suicide ideation.
Some people are more susceptible to depression than others due to generational trauma, hereditary reasons, and negative experiences during developmental years. We understand the importance of connection and feeling safe during your quest to find healing and relief.
Our counsellors draw on a variety of interventions including person centered and emotion focused approaches, trauma-informed practises such as Somatic Experiencing and Internal family Systems (IFS) and behavioural therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and more.
