Frequently Asked Questions
How long is a Neurofeedback session?
Set-up and takedown is about 5 minutes, and session run time is 33 minutes – we book an hour so we have plenty of time to do the session and have a brief check-in. This gives your brain enough time to engage with the feedback and begin making natural adjustments, while keeping the experience comfortable and manageable.
What should I do during a Neurofeedback session?
During the session, there’s nothing you need to “do.” You can sit or lie comfortably, close your eyes or keep them open, and simply allow yourself to be present. Your brain is learning and adjusting naturally, so the more relaxed and undistracted you are, the more effective the session can be.
Does my practitioner stay in the room?
No—the session runs on its own, giving you privacy and space to fully relax. Your practitioner handles set-up and take-down, and is available for any questions before or after the session. You’ll also have a pager, so if you need anything during the session, your practitioner can come in immediately.
What do the tiny “blips” in the music mean?
The soft sounds or “blips” you hear are signals that your brain is responding and adjusting its activity. They’re gentle prompts that help guide your nervous system toward more balanced patterns. There’s no need to react—just notice them if you like, or let them pass quietly in the background.
When can I expect to notice shifts?
Some clients notice subtle changes even during the first session, like a sense of calm, clarity, or increased focus. For most, the shifts become more apparent over several sessions, as the brain continues to integrate new patterns. Everyone’s timeline is unique, but with consistent sessions, many people experience lasting benefits.
Are the changes permanent?
Many clients notice permanent shifts, particularly when sessions are combined with supportive habits like mindfulness, rest, and self-care. Think of Dynamical Neurofeedback as a gentle reset for your brain—helping it learn new patterns that can stick. While each brain is unique, these changes often support ongoing calm, focus, and emotional balance.
Are there any side effects?
Dynamical Neurofeedback is non-invasive and generally well-tolerated. Some people notice mild temporary sensations such as slight fatigue, heightened awareness, or a brief shift in mood right after a session. These are usually short-lived and often indicate that your brain is actively adjusting.
Is Dynamical Neurofeedback® safe?
Yes—this is a gentle, non-invasive technology designed to help your brain self-regulate. It does not involve medications or electrical stimulation, and sessions are guided by a trained practitioner to ensure your comfort and safety. It’s suitable for a wide range of ages and needs, and clients typically experience it as a calm, supportive process
