Our Approach

There are many different levels of trauma that might be impacting your life. Our counsellors understand the intricacy of how trauma develops and is stored in the body, and how symptoms of trauma can impact daily functioning.

Our counsellors begin supporting you by understanding your history and background and the dynamics of your current and past relationships. Processing the traumatic events that you have faced comes after you have established a trusting relationship with your counsellor.

Trauma can be multi-layered, and our counsellors understand how to go slow, to be respectful, and to support you in processing your story in a way that is healing. We use our trauma-informed training and intervention skills so that you feel seen and safe while not re-living trauma during therapy.

Your healing journey is unique, and everyone is different. When we begin to heal and move out of being stuck in fight, flight, or freeze, we often start to identify patterns in our lives that have developed in response to what happened to us. Once we identify these patterns, we can begin to see how they might be holding us back now.
